Port Elizabeth – INFORMATION
Port Elizabeth is South Africa’s fifth largest city and is located on the Indian Ocean coast halfway between Cape Town and Durban, in the Eastern Cape. The City stretches for 16 km along Algoa Bay, and is one of the major seaports in South Africa. With Port Elizabeth’s friendly and beautiful weather, you will find the temperature pleasant. The weather in Port Elizabeth during May is nice with friendly evenings with lower temperature. Temperature various between 11°-23°C and the average of precipitation days in May is around ten. It’s recommended to bring an umbrella and to be updated on the weather before any outdoor activity. Port Elizabeth is called the “windy city” due to the coastal proximity.

Voltage: Check your need for a power plug (travel) adapter in Port Elizabeth. The power sockets are of type D, M and N. The standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz.
Water shortage: Due to current water crisis in South Africa there has been restrictions in Port Elizabeth in order to decrease daily water usage to 50 liters per person (from 60 liters a day). This can therefore affect your stay and you need to be aware of the current restrictions.
